The Broken Group Islands is part of Pacific Rim National Park on the west coast of Vancouver Island. They are made up of about 100 small and large islands grouped together to highlight the natural beauty of our west coast environment. It is this beauty, along with its cultural and environmental significance, that led to its inclusion in Pacific Rim
Park.

The inner islands provide shelter from coastal winds and storms. The islands offer interesting and safe passages to explore the many coves, lagoons, tidal areas, rain forest, and beaches. The outer islands are more exposed to the full force of Pacific Ocean, creating marine caves, blow holes, and take-outs for colonies of California and Stellar
sea lions.
First Nations people have lived in the area for thousands of years. Archaeological evidence points to the area’s importance to their way of life over the millenia.
Kayaking the Broken Group Islands is enjoying the west coast of Vancouver Island at its natural best.
