Our Nahanni River canoeing trip provides an exceptional wilderness river experience in Canada. Identified as a world-class river, it was added to UNESCO’s list of World Heritage Sites because of its natural beauty and significance to mankind’s heritage. It has also been included as a Canadian Heritage River for its value to all Canadians as a natural and recreational wonder.

Our Nahanni canoe trip begins at impressive Virgina Falls (twice the height of Niagara Falls) and terminates at Nahanni Butte, a distance of 240 km (150 miles). An elevation drop of 396 m (1,300 ft) creates sections of exciting fast water, negotiated safely by our licensed and experienced river guides. The river offers excellent opportunities for photography enthusiasts as we paddle through a series of canyons, some with walls towering 1200 m (3,800 ft).

We offer an 8 or 12 day canoe trip. The 12 day trip offers a slower pace and more opportunities to spend layover days exploring surrounding features and day hiking to incredible lookout elevations.
